Tunis/Tunisia — Tourism revenues edged down 55% during the first four months of 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, according to the monetary and financial indicators released by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).
The tourism revenues dropped by 536.3 million dinars (MD) to 439.2MD up to April 30, compared to the same period in 2020.
The government decided measures for the sector’s professionals to cope with the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially as the tourism sector is one of the most affected sectors by this health crisis.
The Tourism Ministry is currently implementing a 2021 promotion strategy for the Tunisia destination, Tourism and Handicrafts Minister Habib Ammar said.
The national vaccination drive will help provide a clear vision to the various tour operators and tourists wishing to visit Tunisia, he affirmed.
