Tunis/Tunisia — The COVID-19 pandemic took its toll on the incomes of over 750,000 families, Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Habib Ammar said Wednesday as he made a visit to the ancient Berber village Takrouna, Sousse.
Efforts are being undertaken to revive tourism in Tunisia in abidance with the health protocol, he added. More than 3,500 tourists are currently staying in Tunisian hotels.
There will be over eighty international flights before the end of May. The sector is expected to see a significant boost considering the progress in vaccination campaigns in most countries.
The Prime Minister called Monday for including tourism staff in the list of priority vaccine groups.
